Motor starting reactors<\/strong>\u00a0are used to reduce voltage during starting of large 3 phase motors while limiting inrush currents.<\/p>\n Large motors generally draw 6-8 times more current than their nominal current. Typically, they are started with 70% voltage while the remaining 30% is dispersed via the motor starting reactor.
